Lift grease from your oven
Start with a cold oven and give the cleaner time to work, instead of scraping hard at stubborn grease.
Switch the oven off at the wall and let it cool completely. Remove the racks and clear loose crumbs with a plastic scraper.
Check the appliance instructions and cleaner label. Apply only to suitable surfaces, keeping clear of heating elements and the fan.
Allow the contact time stated on the bottle, then lift away softened dirt with a damp cloth or a pad that will not scratch.
Use fresh water and clean cloths to remove the cleaner thoroughly. Clean removable racks separately and follow the label before using the oven again.
Take care: Oven cleaner is caustic. Wear the label’s recommended protection and ventilate the room. Avoid aluminium, painted surfaces and self-cleaning liners. Never combine it with other cleaning chemicals.
Treatment works alongside good housekeeping: remove food traces, reduce moisture and close hiding places.
Put away food, crockery and pet bowls before treating the kitchen. Clean greasy areas around appliances and cupboards.
Check hidden spaces around the sink, fridge and stove. Use a cockroach treatment only in the locations and manner permitted on its label.
Follow the label’s ventilation, re-entry and follow-up treatment instructions. Keep children and pets away during treatment.
Store dry food in sealed containers, empty covered bins regularly, repair leaks and close gaps around pipes. Remove crumbs and dead insects promptly.
Take care: Avoid contaminating food or preparation surfaces. Never spray into electrical sockets or near flames. Follow the product label for cleaning treated areas and deciding when the room can be used again.
Kitchen grease, bathroom hair and outdoor debris cause different blockages. Several slow drains together can indicate a problem in the main line.
Before adding any chemicals, inspect the strainer and remove accessible hair or debris. A fully blocked toilet or several affected drains needs a plumber.
Check the cleaner label and pipe compatibility before choosing a treatment. Acid drain cleaner requires protective gloves, eye protection and good ventilation.
If the product is suitable, follow its exact quantity, contact time and flushing directions. Keep your face away from the drain and prevent splashes.
If the blockage remains, stop and contact a plumber. Tell them which chemicals have been used. Help prevent future clogs with strainers and by keeping cooking fat out of the sink.
Take care: Acid Flush is corrosive. Never mix it with bleach, ammonia or another cleaner. Do not plunge or try to dismantle a drain containing chemical cleaner. Keep the product secured away from children and pets.
The upholstery care label comes first. W allows a suitable water-based cleaner; S calls for solvent cleaning; WS allows either method; X means vacuuming only.
Check the furniture instructions before choosing a product. For solvent-only fabrics or an unknown care code, ask the manufacturer or a professional cleaner.
Vacuum seams, cushions and the seat base. On fabric approved for wet cleaning, test a suitable cleaner in a hidden spot and let it dry first.
Use the product’s recommended dilution and a well-wrung cloth. Work in small sections and blot marks from their edges towards the centre.
Remove residue as the care instructions allow. Improve airflow and leave the couch unused until it has dried completely. Vacuum regularly and attend to spills promptly.
Take care: A multipurpose cleaner is not suitable for every fabric. Check both labels and avoid soaking the upholstery; a spot test does not replace the furniture’s care instructions.
